Basic Fire Awareness and Fire Marshal

This course provides both employers and staff with the essential training required to meet the obligations of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England and Wales). It is designed to build confidence and competence in fire safety within the practice

Training Objectives:

Fire Awareness

  • Understand current fire safety legislation and legal responsibilities

  • Update and enhance knowledge of fire safety procedures

  • Identify and implement appropriate fire prevention measures

  • Gain a better understanding of common causes of fire within a dental practice

  • Know the correct actions to take on discovering a fire

  • Understand the different classes of fire and the appropriate types of extinguishers

  • Take part in practical training on the safe use of portable firefighting equipment

 

Fire Marshal

  • Understand your roles and responsibilities as a Fire Marshal

  • Identify the emergency evacuation procedures

  • Carry out weekly and monthly fire checks (delegate)

  • Actions on discovering of persons still in the check area
