Medical Emergencies

This course will cover how to recognise the signs, symptoms and treatment of common Medical Emergencies as per the BNF and comprises of a practical element to engage the whole team.

​

It meets the CQC requirements for medical emergencies:

regulation 12: safety of care and treatment

regulation 17: good governance

 

Training Objectives:

​

  • Review the procedures, equipment and therapeutic treatment of common medical

  • emergencies

  • Review when to seek medical assistance

  • Review the Recovery Position

  • Review the importance of accurate clinical records

  • Review the handover process to the paramedics

  • Assess patient using the Primary Survey (DRABC) and Secondary Survey (DE)
